I often joke that if a college football program calls and offers me a head coaching job, I'll drop whatever I'm doing and take it.
Why?
Because I love sports. I love what sports taught me about leadership, and I love what it's teaching my five kids. (It also doesn't hurt that I'm married to a junior high coach.)
I learned how to fail forward, what it really means to have grit, and how to care more about the whole than the individual through sports. Some of my favorite leadership books were written by coaches (I'm looking at you, Bob Stoops). I also learned that being a coach is way more important than being a boss.
When designing the leadership process for ElucidLeadership, I knew how important it would be take everything I've learned over the years and create a system that feels empowering and brings out all of those foundational skills I've learned both in sports and business, one that examines the entire person.

The first step in the ElucidLeadership process is self-discovery. Before you can talk about who you are as a leader, you need to know who you are. We'll dive into understanding your strengths, growth opportunities, values, and goals. We'll uncover things like what it looks like when your ego enters the chat, how you like to be led, and what your routines and habits look like. The best leaders examine themselves first.
The second step is understanding your leadership style. We'll answer this question: Who are you as a leader? This part of the process will help you learn more about your personal leadership style, what it's like to work with you, and your personal pillars of leadership.
The final step is applying these insights to leading others. Once you have a clear understanding of yourself and your leadership style, you can effectively communicate your vision, motivate your team, and solve problems in a way that aligns with your strengths. You'll be empowered to pull the best out in those around you.
Our vision is to equip a generation of leaders to lead with clarity and purpose so they can empower other leaders. Whether you are a seasoned executive looking to enhance your leadership skills, a young professional eager to take on more responsibilities, or a stay-at-home mom pouring into her kids, your leadership matters. And it's time you believe it, too.
